There’s a cabin here, set in an everlasting winter. All warm wood and cosy amongst the white of outside. The candles are lit. The fireplace is crackling and there’s a free squashy armchair by the window. It’s starting to rain and I’m just popping the kettle on.
This is the perfect place to write, daydream, share your latest work or say aloud the ideas only your journal knows.
It’s called The Creative Courage Club.
And it’s moving to Substack.
A place to meet, swap stories, give each other notes and maybe even share our snacks. (No promises.)
A whole year. Monthly calls. Co-working. Members-only chat. Opportunities for feedback. And we’re creating together.
We’re always online, but somehow disconnected. We’re tangled in digital cords more tightly than a 90’s phone and it’s choking our voices. We’re writing in the weird spaces we can snatch from “normal life” at times only to entertain the tumbleweeds and quite frankly, it’s lonely. And scary.
So I thought maybe we could come up with a place, a time, a secret handshake and stop this whole doing it alone thing. It’s not a vibe.
So, this is my invitation to you:
For 12 whole months, let’s make The Creative Courage Club our own secret creator’s cabin in the woods and help each other make our work exist, make it better and then release it into the wild.
We’ll meet once a month for a 60min Q&A call and I’ll bring all the stuff I’ve gathered over the years to your questions. You can ask me anything and submit work for feedback.
And get your duffle bag ready because I think we should also catch up around the fire for a few co-working sessions too.
There’s even a place where you can send paper planes across the cabin messages and connect with each other.
And we’ll drink hot cocoa and feel like we’re not the only ones in the world who are crazy to be putting our hearts out there.
The Creative Courage Club used to be an 8-week container with a start and finish date to help focus on one project. But the overwhelming feedback was people didn’t want it to end. (Lovely.) So what about 12 months? There’s so much we can do in that time! Plus, it still leaves room for a lot of life while still making progress on creative work.
What’s inside:
A WHOLE YEAR of the following:
~ A place for you.
if you’re a human who wants to make things. The club is always open and everyone is welcome.
~ Members-only chat.
Share your latest posts or work, get encouragement from others in there, chat amongst yourselves.
~ Monthly live Q&A calls with replays.
(Question scope includes: copy, branding, storytelling, email marketing, strategy, idea sound-boarding, podcasting, course creation and more.)
~ Feedback opportunities.
Submit your questions before the live call (or during) and get feedback. If you don’t have anything to ask, the calls are still valuable to hear what other people are working on and getting help with.
~ Co-working sessions.
(Sometimes spontaneous, sometimes planned, let’s see what works for us.)
~ We’re also starting cosy.
Which means if you join early, you’ll have even more opportunities to ask questions and get feedback on your work. (Although, within reason. I won’t be able to review multiple things for every person every month. Girl has to eat and watch Netflix sometime.)
~ More to come.
Who’s hosting this thing?
It’s me, hi, I’m the club host, it’s me. I’m Keeley if we haven’t met yet but let’s start with: What am I building?
Two main plans:
1: Ultimately I want to make beautiful things and help other people make beautiful things. I’m building an online body of work with stories, poems, essays, videos and podcasts that offer joyful hope in spite of rubbish. Work that helps others to courageously share their own.
2: And a floristry business. In an inspired move of midlife madness genius, I decided to go to Floristry school and by Christmas this year I will be a real life florist with a cute floral shed, hosting workshops under the fairy lights and one day booking weddings and events. But I’m building that from scratch.
I’m creating these alongside you, bringing what I know and at times figuring it out with you.

The boring stuff:
For well over a decade I’ve been a communication specialist, a hat that gave me many other hats: email marketing, copywriting, information architecture, web design, brand strategy, course creation, change management and more. I spent a long time in the media industry as an actor, a voice-over artist, and at times a writer/producer/director. I have a Bachelor of Writing and Media Communications and am now completing my Certification in Floristry.
I’m co-host of The Substack Soirée with Sara Tasker of Me & Orla and I host two podcasts: Creative Courage and co-host Flowers & Folklore with Sarah Rushbrooke.
I’m an Aussie and live in the nation’s capital with my humans, my 10yr old whippet and rescue greyhound who steals all my shoes. I’m a dedicated adult ballet student. I love Star Trek, watching tennis, glittery things (I have a dedicated drawer for shiny bits) and new notebooks.
I have big dreams and I like my tea, earl grey, hot.
How to access the club?
The only way to join the club is through an annual subscription at $349AUD which converts to approx £183 and $243USD for the full year.
We get a minimum of 12 full months together to make things happen.
You won’t see the option to join the club unless you’re subscribed to this publication. In case you get stuck, I’ve put more in-depth instructions on how to join right here.
Want more?
If you’d love all of the above plus a private 1:1 60min session with me AND a cute little package in the mail (genuine mail, from a real postman, in your actual letterbox), then the ‘Besties’ option at $649 might be the one for you.
Whichever option you choose, this little button will unlock it all for you.

So, if you’d rather not be creating in the spare room, (in the dark, on your own with 3 empty emotional support cups of tea) and you quite like the idea of having buddies to create with and swap ideas, and get some feedback along the way, then click this little magic button below and I’ll see you in there.
PS: Also please pack some mini marshmallows. I forgot them because of who I am as a person. Ta.
PPS: I’ve answered a few questions below, but if there’s anything else you’d like to ask me please feel free to comment or email me: hello@creativecourageclub.com
Question time
Q: Is this a course?
No. There is no curriculum or content to to work through. Although, as it grows, there will be resources added to the library.
Q: Is this a Substack-specific group?
No. Can you bring Substack specific work and questions? Yes.
The Creative Courage Club already exists, hosted on a separate platform, but I’m moving the club over to Substack as a lot of creatives are here now and it’s a frictionless way for the majority of them to connect and share work. But I want to be really clear, I’m not a Substack feature expert. As in, I don’t know everything about all the new ever-changing bits and pieces the moment they’re released.
I bring my expertise in the areas mentioned above - the skills that are foundational, regardless of platform, to help you with your storytelling and strategy wherever you might be.
I also want to be upfront that TikTok, LinkedIn and book publishing are not my forte. Though I can help with accountability and idea-bouncing.
Q: Do I need a Substack account to join?
Yes. You don’t have to be actively posting here, you won’t need a publication but you will need a profile. You can set one up here.
Q: What time are the calls and what if I can’t make it live?
I’ll set the call times depending on the majority of member location. I’ll also try to rotate these ocasionally to accomodate different timezones. However, if you can’t make it live, there’s no problem. You can still submit your questions and the replays will be available to members after the call.
Q: Do you do payment plans
The Creative Courage Club does have payment plans available, but now that it’s hosted in Substack it’s not possible to offer that upfront. If you’d like to chat about a payment plan, please get in touch: hello@creativecourageclub.com and I’ll get that sorted for you.
Q: Have a question not mentioned here?
Email me at hello@creativecourageclub.com I’m always happy to help! 🤍
