Wow that’s inspiring! Leaving Meta & the powers that be. Making a change for your nervous system is always a good call. Especially if you can find community here. And I think notes feels less jarring - in that we only have to go into the ´noisy side’ every now & then. It’s not the whole app so that’s encouraging. 💗 But I hear you.

And I’m glad someone else understands the loop!!

Oh my Goddess! I have been there. I had 500 followers on my Facebook biz page. It is like you said about losing the connection that you worked so hard to build, and the people who were interacting with me on that page no longer interact on my new page are in the way that they did. So many people have lost confidence with meta-and all their shenanigans.

As a Canadian, I can’t even post anything that’s happening about our country if it has links to new sites now because they’ve blocked Canadian news sites because they won’t pay meta-for their content to be on there

It’s quite ridiculous

I haven’t quite got to the point where I want to completely shut it down but I’m close. Little bit of FOMO going on.

Did I accidentally share this episode as a note too?? Can someone confirm? 🙈

I don't think so - I just had a quick scroll and couldn't see it in my subscribed notes feed :)

Loved listening to this Keeley. It's heartbreaking that this can happen and I'm so sorry to hear how traumatic it's been but I'm glad you're hear and I get to still be part of your community.

Oh Sarah that’s awful! I’m so sorry! And it’s just so infuriating because there’s really nowhere to get help. Have you had any luck in the last few days? ❤️

Still no joy 🙄 I’m just back from a short break, so from now on they will get a daily reminder!!

What a nightmare! So sorry you’ve had to slog through this but thank you for sharing the nuts and bolts. I have 2factor on IG but I almost never go into FB anymore so I need to dig in and double check settings.

Ps. I thought the sound quality was just fine and not lacking at all!

It was awful. Glad to be on the other side of it now, hopefully this helps others in a tiny way. But yes it’s definitely worth a check - if your accounts are linked in any way, they both disappear. 🙄 ❤️

Ohhhhhh I feel your pain and sympathize. Having my Meta biz page for Sparks of Healing hacked was traumatizing. I had built up over 500 followers and an active community. It was heartbreaking; I felt violated in the same way as when my car was stolen. The vehicle no longer felt safe when returned, stripped of its belongings. FB never did return my account.

I love that Hamish actually pops on and addresses concerns here!

Oh! Sorry to hear that! It is traumatising isn’t it! It’s about so much more than just losing social media - it’s community, it’s work, trust, security & actual financial & identity risk. And yes, the fact that Hamish & Chris & the rest of the team are around & actually seem to care is amazing. How long ago did that happen to you? 🤍

Summer of 2022. That time was very strange because I had let myself be taken in by a dishonest marketing company who I invested a healthy sum of money in. Money that my business did not have, only to lose access to my largest funnel. Hugely frustrating, however, I created a three part story out of it here in My Weird and Wonderful Life lol!

Always looking for the pony, I am.

💕

The Pony Joke.

“Over lunch today I asked Ed Meese about one of Reagan's favorite jokes. 'The pony joke?' Meese replied. 'Sure I remember it. If I heard him tell it once, I heard him tell it a thousand times.'”

“The joke concerns twin boys of five or six. Worried that the boys had developed extreme personalities – one was a total pessimist, the other a total optimist – their parents took them to a psychiatrist.”

“First the psychiatrist treated the pessimist. Trying to brighten his outlook, the psychiatrist took him to a room piled to the ceiling with brand-new toys. But instead of yelping with delight, the little boy burst into tears. 'What's the matter?' the psychiatrist asked, baffled. 'Don't you want to play with any of the toys?' 'Yes,' the little boy bawled, 'but if I did I'd only break them.'”

“Next the psychiatrist treated the optimist. Trying to dampen his out look, the psychiatrist took him to a room piled to the ceiling with horse manure. But instead of wrinkling his nose in disgust, the optimist emitted just the yelp of delight the psychiatrist had been hoping to hear from his brother, the pessimist. Then he clambered to the top of the pile, dropped to his knees, and began gleefully digging out scoop after scoop with his bare hands. 'What do you think you're doing?' the psychiatrist asked, just as baffled by the optimist as he had been by the pessimist. 'With all this manure,' the little boy replied, beaming, 'there must be a pony in here somewhere!'”
